Cowboy Country

By

The air is still and hot as hell, and the dusty road deserted except for a brand new, flame red Dodge Ram pick-up truck cruising calmly towards the town of Jennin. The driver is Walter Johnson - Walt to his friends – and he wears a broad, toothy grin. It’s the universal expression that comes as standard with any new vehicle.

Despite the excitement of his new toy, Walt still revels in the backdrop, as he has done since he was a child, riding shotgun in his Daddy’s truck.  This is Cowboy country and anybody whose childhood fantasies included the Lone Ranger, Billy the Kid, or the James Gang, cannot help but be swept up by it. Walt is one of those people. This is how life is supposed to be; City living is for fools.
